NRP 8th Edition Essentials and Advanced Provider 

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP®) course conveys an evidence-based approach to the care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. This course content delivers curricula for both Essentals and Advanced Providers who may participate in neonatal resuscitation.

YOU MUST COMPLETE PART 1 ONLINE, BEFORE ATTENDING THE SKILLS SESSION!!

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE AND PASS ALL ONLINE SECTIONS THAT APPLY TO THE LEVEL OF THE COURSE YOU ARE TAKING AND BRING THE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE TO CLASS WITH YOU.

The online Part 1 can be purchased at the time of registration. The online license activation code will be assigned upon the completion of your registration.  The required textbook NRP 8^th edition can be purchased or rented (and returned at the completion of the class) at the time of registration.

All Advanced participants will complete the exam online to assess the cognitive material presented in the NRP Textbook. You will be required to take the NRP Advanced exam.  

This provider Course may be appropriate for healthcare professionals who attend births and are responsible for the anticipated resuscitation of the newborn with known risk factors and for healthcare professionals who participate in the use of PPV and additional neonatal resuscitation. NRP Advanced is suited for healthcare professionals who serve as members of the resuscitation team in the delivery room or in settings where complex neonatal resuscitation may be required.

NRP Advanced providers will be trained in basic and advanced steps of neonatal resuscitation.

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

NRP Essential participants will be responsible for the material in the following lessons for knowledge enhancement

2. Anticipating and Preparing for Resuscitation
3. Initial Steps of the Newborn Care
4. Positive-Pressure Ventilation (including Laryngeal Mask and Orogastric Tube

NRP Advanced participants will be responsible for the material in lessons for knowledge enhancement

1. Foundations of Neonatal Resuscitation
2. Anticipating and Preparing for Resuscitation
3. Initial Steps of the Newborn Care
4. Positive-Pressure Ventilation (including Laryngeal Mask and Orogastric Tube
5. Endotracheal intubation
6. Chest Compressions
7. Medications
8. Resuscitation and Stabilization of Babies Born Preterm
9. Post-resuscitation Care
10. Special Considerations
11. Ethics and Care and the End of Life.

The NRP Advance learner may Study the Supplemental Lessons BUT WILL NOT BE TESTED ON THAT MATERIAL
